6、Background：

IL-12 is a heterodimer formed by the two subunits p35 and p40 bound by disulfide bonds, containing 503 amino acids (R23-S219 & I23-S328), with a predicted molecular weight of 57.2KDa. Under non-reducing conditions (SDS-PAGE method), the measured molecular weight is about 70kDa. IL-12 is a key regulatory factor in the process of cellular immune response. It can inhibit and kill tumor cells by activating NK cells, macrophages, T cells and promoting the secretion of cytokines such as gamma-interferon (IFN-γ), and has important biological activity.
